Protected Concerted Activity: A legal term used in labor policy to define employee protection against employer retaliation in the United States. It defines the activities workers may partake in without fear of employer retaliation. The National Labor Relations Act, the main labor policy governing labor relations in the United States, defines concerted activity in Section 7. “Employees shall have the right to self-organization, to form, join, or assist labor organizations, to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing, and to engage in other concerted activities for the purpose of collective bargaining or other mutual aid or protection…” Learn more at the Glossary of HR and Employee Benefit Terms.
