Survey looks at 23 specific talent management practices

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HR.com Publishes Research Paper on Talent Relationship Management

Survey looks at 23 specific talent management practices

October 11, 2005 Aurora, ON. HR.com (www.hr.com), the largest research and Web destination for HR Executives, recently published a research paper entitled, "How Savvy is HR at Talent Relationship Management? A Survey and its Results."

Written by Claude Balthazard, Ph.D., HR.com's Director of Research, the paper gives the results of a survey that looked into 23 specific talent management practices that were deemed to be indicators of effective TRM. Each of the practices was rated on the same 5-point scale representing the degree to which the practice is present, or embedded, in the organization. More than 500 senior managers and executives responded to the survey.

The average number of TRM practices that were reasonably well embedded in organizations was 7.85. There were 45 organizations in the sample (9.3%) that had not embedded any of the practices, and there were five (only 1%) that had embedded all 23 practices. A mean number of TRM practices at 7.85 (out of a maximum of 23) indicates that the average organization still has a way to go in terms of its TRM savvy.
